Ayurveda
Ayurveda is an ancient wisdom healing system originating in India.
Ayur means life or vital energy
Veda means science or wisdom
Ayurveda is the wisdom to help us restore and retain our life-force
According to Ayurveda, everything in the universe is made from five elements, earth, water, fire, air and ether. These elements combine to create the three dosha’s or constitutions, which are Kapha (earth + water) Pitta (fire + water) and Vata (air + space)
Ayurveda teaches us how to bring the balance to our body, mind and spirit, as well as teaching us how to harmonise ourselves with the rhythms of nature.
This wisdom empowers us to take control of our own health, as we understand how our choices and actions affect our body and mind through diet, thoughts, and lifestyle choices. Ayurveda is a wholistic approach which looks for the root cause of the issue or complaint.
Ayurveda can be thought of as a lifestyle mindfulness practice. Through diet, home remedies, herbs and simple lifestyle practices, we can make great changes to our health, making it both effective and affordable.
Ayurveda helps to awaken the divine healer within.
